Daniel Vallverdu (born March 17, 1986 in Valencia, Venezuela) is the head coach of the Czech professional tennis player Tomas Berdych (Dec 2014 - ongoing) and former coach of Andy Murray (2010-2014). Vallverdu and Murray had a very successful partnership which led to many tournament wins including Olympic Gold '12 (Vallverdu was Head Coach for Team GB - Olympic Tennis), and 2 Grand Slam wins: US Open '12 and Wimbledon'13 (Vallverdu was working alongside Ivan Lendl). In May 2015, Berdych already made progress under Vallverdu as he returned to his former top ranking (2011) of World Number 5 and then reached his career-high singles ranking of World No. 4. ==Coaching History with Andy Murray== Vallverdu met Andy Murray in the Sanchez - Casal Barcelona Tennis Academy when he was 15 where they were both training to become Professional Tennis Players. The two quickly became best friends. In June 2008, he became British tennis player Andy Murray's doubles partner for the 2008 Queen's Club Championships in London. Vallverdu started working with Andy Murray following his split from Miles Maclagan in 2010 and became the Scot's de facto coach after he parted company with Alex Corretja in March.
